Today I wanted to start this blog out by saying, HOW is school only a week away?! This summer went by faster than any other and I can't believe that my first class is only a few days away. However, I have to admit, I am a little eager to get back into the routine of school (this is my last year!) and cannot wait for the cooler weather to start rolling in! In honor of classes starting and back to school shopping, today I wanted to share some of my school wardrobe essentials with you! These are pieces that I have worn time and time again, and couldn't imagine not having them in my closet!
STRIPED TOP - aka my #1 must have. A good striped tee can come in handy for so many different outfits and worn billions of ways. My fave striped tee is from BP, and I wore it to death so much last year that I almost bought the exact same one this year. Whether it's worn with skirt, used as a layering piece, or paired with a statement necklace, the perfect striped top is never going to let you down!
BACKPACK - ever since my trip to France, I have been totally crushing on backpacks. I found this beautiful blush leather one at a French store and I love the easiness and instant chic-ness it adds to every outfit! Not only do they give your shoulder a break from carrying heavy bags, but they just add a fun unexpected detail!
NEUTRAL BAG - while I still love my "pop of color" bags, there is just something so easy and classic about a neutral bag. They go with absolutely everything and can easily be picked up in the morning, knowing you don't have to coordinate it with an outfit. I bought a black scalloped tote from BP before I went to France and it has been my go-to for errands, school, and meetings.
LACE UP FLATS - this is by far one of my favorite shoes to wear in the colder months. I love the way they look...the pointed front gives off a certain elegance, with the laces being a little more on the trendy side. I bought this maroon suede pair from Nordstrom but I also have a black pair from Old Navy that I adore. I am planning on wearing these with jeans, pixie pants, my jean skirt, and a ton of dresses. Look out for them in my Greek Girl posts when school starts up again!
GO WITH EVERYTHING NECKLACE - lately I have been a huge fan of dainty necklaces than can be used to layer. This tiny monogram necklace from Baublebar is one of my go-to pieces when I want to add a little something extra. I am thinking about getting it in acrylic pink as well!
TRENDY PIECE - whenever the seasons change, I always try to get one trendy piece that I know I am going to love. During the summer months I was totally adoring the off the shoulder look. This fall? Button up skirts are all the rage and I couldn't love them more! I absolutely adore how flattering this skirt is and think it will be so cute at school with a sweater and some tights! I will also be wearing this with a tank and sandals while we are still having this hot weather.
LONG CARDIGAN - cardigans are probably one of my favorite pieces to wear in the fall and winter months. They are perfect for layering, especially when it gets super cold in classrooms! This oversized one below is always my go-to. I love wearing cardigans with dresses and over other tops, like my striped one below!
BOYFRIEND JEANS - I really started liking boyfriend jeans last year, and now I wear them constantly in the colder months and with a tank in the summer. I still like mine to be a tad fitted but love the more casual but chic vibe they always seem to give off. I love wearing them with anything from my Delta Zeta sweatshirts to a nicer top with wedges. They give the perfect balance to any outfit.
CLASSIC WHITE TOP - white tops are one of my biggest wardrobe essentials because they can be paired with so many different things. One of my favorite outfits is some ripped jeans with a white top and pop of color accessories.
VEST - is there anything better in the fall than a good vest?? I bought this one through a sorority company and have worn it so much because it matches everything. I also have a pink one that I adore when I want a fun pop of color!
What are your back to school wardrobe essentials?
