Well, I can happily say that I finally pulled the trigger and went to a Pure Barre class! I have been wanting to attend one for a while but was too nervous to go by myself, I'm a total baby, I know. I finally went to a class last Sunday with my friend and just wow. So many feelings! I thought that today I would share a little insight into my thoughts and opinions on my first class as well as my current workout faves!
COST - I bought the intro pack so I currently have 3 classes for $40. I loved the class so much I think my next purchase will be the unlimited month of classes for $99. The classes run around $23 per session but trust me when I say they are so worth the money. If you are unsure about spending that much, I would take advantage of the deals they have (like the 3 for $40) to at least try it out. I have to say, I have never experienced such an amazing and intense workout, and for me that's worth it!
NECESSITIES - Long pants, grip socks, and a tank or shirt that is a little tighter and won't get in your way. All the equipment used is provided! This includes a mat, small stability ball, weights, and a resistance band.
THOUGHTS - Let me start by saying that I am horrible at working out....aka the most exercise I do is walking around campus all day. I don't have a lot of strength or flexibility so I had no idea if I would even be able to make it through this hour long class! I was pretty nervous about the class, especially because you are facing a mirror the whole time, but it's so fast paced that no one even pays attention to each other! The session was very upbeat and we were constantly doing one workout after another so you don't even have time to think about how much it hurts! My teacher was always fixing my posture to ensure that I was doing the workouts right, and I can say, I know that I was because I can feel it in every part of my body. The sets are very intense, and some were extremely hard for me, to the point where my arms or legs would be shaking. But I can also say that I have never felt better or more accomplished after a workout. These sessions include a lot of ballet work, strength training, and all-over body exercises. I absolutely loved it and have already booked two more classes!
